PPC, Pay-Per-Click is an online advertising model where marketers pay each time a user clicks on one of their online ads. These ads appear when we search for information on Google. For example, in the screenshot, I typed "resume template" and the first 2 websites that appears is a PPC ad.
I personally tend to skipped the PPC websites while searching for information on Google. Since I know that it is a paid ad and might not be as trustworthy.
SEO VS PPC
So now that we understand how SEO and PPC works, what are the pros and cons of both?
SEO takes time to see organic results, a relatively slow process in order to improve results over time, and requires ongoing optimisation.
PPC results is almost immediate, requires proper management to control budget, and once stop, traffic and results stop as well.
How to choose between both!
How about.....
Combining power?
SEO + PPC = Increased search engine presence
Improving website with SEO gives better chance at ranking on first page of search result, by purchasing PPC ads for the same keyword will allow the website to appear near the top of the first page whenever the keyword is searched! By optimising website and purchasing PPC ads will ensure website to dominates search results! :D
When running both SEO and PPC ads simultaneously, there will be more data available to collect and analyse. Using these information can help marketers better understand their target audience, which then modify SEO and PPC strategies accordingly.
What do you think about SEO and PPC joining forces?
Or would you prefer them working separately?
I'm definitely against their separation!
Do share your thoughts on this with me in the comment sections below. ^^
Hello Claire! Thanks for interesting post and the eye-catching images! :) I'm with you for sure, that we're both against SEO and PPC's separation. We should never ignore any of the advantages that each of them bring :) This is good for companies to utilise both in the long run to maintain their online presence and not be forgotten by their potential consumers~
ReplyDeleteHi Jia Yi! Thanks for dropping by! ^^ Glad that we are on the same side! SEO and PPC should definitely join forces to get the most benefits instead of separately. However, if under unforeseen circumstances such as low on a budget, it is totally find to start with SEO then adopting PPC afterwards :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this! I think I have to agree with you that I also tend to ignore paid ads as I do not find them reliable and relatable. Most of the times, the content of the paid websites do not provide what I need. Therefore, it is proven that organic results are more helpful to readers with relevant contents. However, in terms of garnering high volume of traffic, paid websites are effective in appearing on the top pages of Google. Therefore, it all depends on what the reader need and is looking for. In my opinion, combining both SEO and PPC will not go wrong for the marketing strategy of the company with regards to both long term and short term benefit as long as they are able to set a feasible budget.
ReplyDeleteHi Sean! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yup! SEO and PPC together will be the best for company if its within their budget! :) If company is low on budget, definitely start with SEO first even though patience is needed!
